Here is how to make vents in your hood. I based the shape on shark gills. Low drag but good heat extraction from the engine bay. |

Here is the .PDF template that you should print out and put small holes in the red dots.
PRINT CHECK!!! once you print it out make sure that the distance between those marked dots is close to 6 1/8" or it will all be off. If it is off, then adjust the size in your print settings until it matches.

Next on the inside of the hood, measure out and find the spot for the guide hole, then drill it.
Once you drill your guide hole, you put the hood down and on the top you draw a parallel line to the side edge of the hood. Then put the template on and align it with the guide hole and your parallel line. |
Then take a marker and make some dots through the holes you made in the template.
Now mark your cut lines. |
And then go to town with the Dremel tool or whatever else you like to cut aluminum with. I used a steel blade, it cuts quick and it's nice and thin.
Then use something wide and tough to push the rear flaps down. I just used a file. |
Then draw in the bend lines for the front flaps and used plyers to gently bend them upwards. |
Next file all the edges smooth. |

I used aluminum tape to tape the middle cuts. |
Then used JB Weld to fill in the midle cuts. |
Then sand it smooth, primer it, and paint it.
Done.
Repeat on the other side.
